License terms · Version 1.0

MapLink End User License Agreement

These terms govern licensed use of MapLink. They distinguish normal server configuration from unauthorized redistribution, rebranding, modified distribution and circumvention of licensing or security controls.

Current EULA version: 1.0
Licensed customers must accept the current version before protected downloads become available. My MapLink records this version together with the SHA-256 fingerprint of the canonical terms: 3c99db52e8a20069eadaddaead5ebbf19af48b77cbf6ce171fe80d1829a46499.

Licensor / rights holder: Christopher Szinek. Questions about these terms: support@maplink.at.

1. License grant

Subject to an active MapLink entitlement and these terms, the licensor grants the licensee a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to install and use MapLink for the number of installations and DayZ servers permitted by the applicable license.

2. Configuration

Licensees may configure MapLink through documented configuration, administration and integration mechanisms for their own authorized server environment. Ordinary configuration through supported settings, routes, terminals, integrations and Control Center functions is permitted.

3. Ownership

MapLink software, source code, binaries, documentation, names, logos and other protected materials remain the intellectual property of their respective rights holders. No ownership or authorship is transferred by purchase, activation or download.

4. Restrictions

Except where expressly authorized in writing or permitted by mandatory applicable law, the licensee must not:

  • redistribute, publish, sublicense, rent, lease, sell or otherwise make MapLink available to third parties as a separate product;
  • rebrand MapLink or claim authorship or ownership of MapLink software, source code, binaries or documentation;
  • remove or obscure copyright, attribution or license notices;
  • modify, patch or alter MapLink software or source code outside documented configuration mechanisms, or create derivative works, except where expressly authorized in writing or permitted by mandatory law;
  • distribute modified MapLink builds or derivative versions;
  • use MapLink source code or binaries to create or market a substantially competing copy;
  • circumvent, disable, forge, tamper with or bypass licensing, signature, update-integrity or security mechanisms.

5. Reverse engineering and interoperability

Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory rights relating to observing, studying or testing a computer program and decompilation strictly to the extent required for interoperability under applicable law. Any information obtained under such mandatory exceptions may be used only within the limits permitted by law.

6. Steam Workshop / DayZ client component

The MapLink DayZ client component may be distributed to players through the authorized Steam Workshop item where required to connect to a MapLink-enabled server. This does not grant server operators or players any right to republish, rebrand, sublicense or distribute altered MapLink builds outside authorized distribution channels.

7. License service and activation

MapLink may use license activation, installation binding, cryptographically signed license leases, entitlement checks and periodic refreshes. Attempts to forge, modify or bypass those controls are prohibited except where mandatory law provides otherwise. Temporary service outages are handled according to documented lease and offline-grace behavior. Licensing enforcement is scoped to MapLink functionality and does not authorize MapLink to stop DayZ or CFTools processes.

8. Updates and compatibility

Updates may be required for security, compatibility or continued service operation. Pre-release channels may contain unfinished functionality and are provided only to licenses entitled to those channels. Signed release metadata and package-integrity controls form part of the MapLink distribution model.

9. Third-party components and trademarks

Third-party software and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. DayZ and related trademarks are the property of Bohemia Interactive. MapLink is an independent product and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Bohemia Interactive unless expressly stated otherwise.

10. Suspension and termination

A license may be suspended or revoked for material breach, unauthorized redistribution, license abuse, fraud, chargeback where legally applicable, or attempts to circumvent security or licensing controls. Suspension or revocation does not authorize MapLink to stop DayZ or CFTools processes; product enforcement is limited to MapLink functionality as documented.

11. Warranty and liability

MapLink is provided subject to any mandatory statutory rights. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, no guarantee is given that software will be uninterrupted or error-free, and liability for indirect or consequential loss is excluded where such exclusion is legally permitted. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer rights where applicable.

12. Governing law

Austrian law applies to the extent legally permissible, excluding conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods where applicable. Mandatory consumer protections and mandatory jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.

13. Changes to terms

Material changes are published as a new EULA version. A new acceptance may be required before access to new protected downloads is granted.

14. Entire agreement and severability

These terms, together with the applicable license entitlement and any mandatory statutory provisions, govern use of MapLink. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain unaffected to the extent permitted by law.

Mandatory law prevails.
No clause is intended to exclude a statutory right that cannot legally be excluded. The practical legal effect can also depend on the actual operator, transaction model and whether the customer acts as a business or consumer.
